CLEARWATER — An airplane made an emergency landing Monday on Sand Key on Clearwater Beach.
According to Clearwater police, the plane landed about 12:50 p.m. on an empty strip of sand south of the Sheraton Sand Key on 1160 Gulf Blvd., after experiencing mechanical problems. Two people on board were not hurt. No other details were released.
The Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the incident. No other details were released.
