Amtrak train crashes into truck in Tampa; driver suffers minor injuries

The driver of a semi-trailer suffered minor injuries in a crash Friday afternoon involving an Amtrak train south of the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred before 2:30 at Tampa E Boulevard and E Broadway Avenue.

None of the approximately 200 passengers on the train were injured, deputies said.

Tampa E Boulevard is expected to be closed for the next several hours, deputies said.
