Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash

A motorcyclist was in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after a 100-year-old driver made a left turn into his path on U.S. 41, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Timothy Mohammed Soliman, 22, of Apollo Beach was south bound on the highway when a 2003 Buick Century turning left onto Flamingo Road rolled into his path, according to the patrol.

The Buick's driver, Howard F. Demask of Apollo Beach, who was born in 1911, had minor injuries, troopers said.

Soliman was ejected from his motorcycle and taken to Tampa General Hospital.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continued.
