ST. PETERSBURG — Crews removed a jack-knifed beer truck that blocked the eastbound lanes of the Gandy Bridge for two hours Wednesday.

The driver, Jeremy Nicholas Greathouse, 32, of Riverview lost control of the Miller Lite semitrailer truck on the rain-soaked bridge about a mile from Fourth 4th Street N at 1:45 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The truck hit the outside concrete railing, traveled across the lanes and struck the inside concrete railing, causing it to jack-knife. Troopers said the contents of the trailer were not damaged.

Greathouse suffered minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital. He was cited with careless driving, the patrol said.
