BRANDON — A male bicyclist has died after being hit by a car on State Road 60 on Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
As Hung Nguyen drove a Toyota Tundra drove east on State Road 60, west of Knights Avenue, the bicyclist tried to cross the highway from south to north, the FHP said.
The bicyclist entered the Tundra's path and was hit by the car, authorities said. He was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he later died.
The bicyclist has not been identified, pending his next of kin's notification. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the FHP.
Nguyen, 40, of Valrico, was not injured.
