Cyclist dies after hitting car's door
A 59-year-old bicyclist died Friday evening after riding into the passenger-side door of a Chevy Cavalier earlier in the day, police said.
Glenn Howard Stoner of Clearwater was biking south on East Avenue at about 10:20 a.m., police said. While riding through the crosswalk, Stoner hit the vehicle, which was traveling west on Court Street, police said.
The driver, Rodolfo Marrero-Espinosa, 41, of Tampa suffered no major injuries. Stoner was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His condition eventually worsened and he died minutes after 6 p.m., authorities said.
