DADE CITY — A 4-year-old girl was injured Tuesday afternoon when she darted into traffic and was struck by a car, state troopers said.
The Dade City girl, Jatharia Sanchez, was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in serious but stable condition, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
About 4:30 p.m., she was playing on the grassy shoulder of Willingham Drive. But she suddenly ran into the street and into the path of a Toyota Camry driven by Katina Sanders, 41, of Dade City, troopers said.
The patrol said no charges have been filed in the accident.
