Oldsmar bicyclist struck, killed after collision with pickup truck

PALM HARBOR — A 52-year-old man on a bicycle was struck and killed Monday afternoon at the intersection of McMullen-Booth and Curlew roads, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Mark Allen Lustfeldt of Oldsmar was pedaling in the intersection crosswalk when he pulled out in front of a 2000 Chevy Silverado pickup traveling south. The driver, Jeffrey Johnston, 23, of St. Petersburg had a green light at the intersection, troopers said.

Lustfeldt was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital where he died. No charges have been filed.
