CLEARWATER — A 92-year-old man driving a Mini Cooper died Thursday morning after crashing into the back of a school bus, police said.
No kids were on board the bus.
The crash occurred just before 7 a.m. at Missouri Avenue and Lotus Path. One school bus stopped to pick up students. Behind it, another school bus stopped and the Mini Cooper crashed into the back of it.
The bus driver was uninjured. She'd completed her high school run for the morning and was about to pick up elementary school students, police said.
The driver of the Mini Cooper, Bobby Brooks Campbell, was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where he later died.
