Two law enforcement officers were injured in separate car crashes Sunday evening in Pasco and Pinellas counties, authorities said.
A Pasco County Sheriff's Office deputy was among four injured in a three-vehicle crash on County Line Road west of the Suncoast Parkway. Three people including the deputy were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while a fourth victim was sent to the hospital in more serious condition, according to the Sheriff's Office. The deputy, who was heading to work at the time of the crash, was not immediately identified.
A Clearwater police officer suffered minor injuries in a crash at Drew Street and Evergreen Avenue around 5 p.m., authorities said. According to Clearwater police, the officer hit a tree after swerving to avoid another car in the road and was transported to Morton Plant North Bay Hospital. The Clearwater police officer was also not immediately identified.
