A 24-year-old Pinellas Park man was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by a car in St. Petersburg.
Dale Lee Roberts was walking east on Gandy Boulevard near the Gandy bridge about 3:30 a.m. when a man driving a Chevrolet TrailBlazer slammed into him, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Roberts, who authorities say wasn't wearing any reflective clothing, died at the scene. Investigators said they have not determined why he was walking in the middle of the street.
The incident remains under investigation.
