ST. PETERSBURG — A 35-year-old man was critically injured Thursday after his motorcycle collided with a car in the 7900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street N.

Christopher Sawyer was riding north about 3:30 p.m. when a 2001 Honda sedan driven by 24-year-old Amanda Forgy, of Tampa, exited a parking lot into the path of his 2011 Honda motorcycle.

Sawyer, who was wearing a helmet, vaulted into the car's windshield, over the roof and onto the pavement. He was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Forgy and two adult passengers suffered minor injuries and were also taken to Bayfront.
