TAMPA — A 22-year-old bicyclist was rushed to the hospital in critical condition Wednesday night after being hit by a car, officials said.

Joseph Troutwine, 22, of Tampa was riding his bike on Fletcher Avenue east of 22nd Street around 11:15 p.m.

Troutwine attempted to cross Fletcher Avenue when he rode into the path of an eastbound Honda, driven by Anh Thi Hgoc To, 23, of Tampa.

The Honda hit the bicycle head-on, and Troutwine was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with serious injuries, deputies said.

He remained in critical condition Thursday morning, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
