CLEARWATER— Two people were injured Monday afternoon after a crash involving a motorcycle and a bicycle near Clearwater Mall, police said.

The motorcyclist, Gordon Kendrick, 35, of St. Petersburg, was driving in an "erratic manner" before the crash, according to Clearwater police.

He was on a 2007 Suzuki headed north on the service road of U.S. 19 near Seville Boulevard, police said, at about 2 p.m.

The motorcyclist ran a red light at the intersection, police said, and collided with bicyclist Zachary Ford, 23. Both were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment.

Kendrick, who was not wearing a helmet while riding his motorcycle, was being treated for life-threatening injuries. Ford suffered serious injuries.

Clearwater police said that Kendrick's license had been suspended or revoked at the time of the crash, and that he had been cited for that infraction 11 previous times.
