PORT RICHEY — The Pasco County Sheriff's Office responded to a call Thursday afternoon that shots had been fired at the Gulf View Square Mall.

Deputies received the call at 12:54 p.m. and determined it was about a smash and grab robbery at the Zales jewelry store inside the mall, at 9409 U.S. 19, the Sheriff's Office said. No shots had been fired and the mall was not evacuated.

No one was in custody Thursday afternoon, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Amanda Hunter wrote in an email.
