RIVERVIEW — Deputies flooded into an affluent community early Wednesday after a break-in at a suspected drug house erupted in gunfire.
Just after midnight, two armed men entered 12524 Burgess Hill Drive in the Panther Trace subdivision and exchanged gunfire with those inside, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
No one was injured in the shooting, the agency said.
The armed men fled the subdivision before deputies could respond to a 911 call reporting an armed robbery at the home.
Investigators said the home invasion appears to be drug related, said sheriff's spokesman Larry McKinnon.
