LUTZ — The 49-year-old driver accused of firing a shotgun at two people during a road rage incident last week was arrested Monday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Luis Ramund Brito, 49, faces two counts of attempted murder, the agendy said. He was wanted in connected with the shooting that deputies said took place Aug. 4 at the four-way intersection of Lake Como Drive and Moss Branch Road at about 9:45 p.m.

The incident started when a woman, driving a male passenger, flashed her headlights at a vehicle across the intersection that had its lights off. Brito was behind the wheel of that second vehicle, deputies said.

When the two vehicles passed each other, deputies said Brito fired a shotgun at the male passenger's face.

The man suffered significant facial wounds, deputies said, while the woman suffered minor injuries. The Sheriff's Office did not identify the shooting victims, but said the man's injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Brito's last listed address was in Land O' Lakes. Records show he has been arrested in the past on charges such as burglary, grand theft, possession of cocaine, dealing in stolen property, petit theft and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

He was to be booked into the Hillsborough County jail, then transferred to the Pasco jail in the near future.
