HOLIDAY — A Holiday woman has been arrested on dozens of counts of animal cruelty, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.
Deputies arrested Karen Tuttle-Kunnmann, 61, after finding 46 cats and a dog locked in a U-Haul truck, its storage component and another vehicle.
The cats were in cages without food, water or air conditioning, and sitting in their own feces, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Other cats were in cages stacked to the roof of the truck.
Deputies found the truck outside of 2170 Dixie Garden Loop after receiving complaints from neighbors, the agency said. Tuttle-Kunnmann, 61, who lives at that address, was arrested on 47 counts of animal cruelty. She is being held in jail in lieu of $235,000 bond — $5,000 for each count.
Deputies helped unload the cats from the truck, the Sheriff's Office said.
