POLK CITY — A domestic dispute turned deadly Saturday night when a man shot his adult niece and her husband, who died, before fatally shooting himself, deputies said.
The gunman and his wife live in Kentucky and were visiting family who live on Evans Road, according to a Polk County Sheriff's Office release.
The two went out to dinner and started arguing, deputies said.
They returned to the home and kept at it. Shortly before 8 p.m., his niece's husband tried to intervene, and the man shot him, deputies reported.
The wounded man's wife ran to his side, according to the agency, and her uncle shot her as well. The woman is undergoing treatment at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
After shooting the couple, the uncle then shot and killed himself, deputies said.
Authorities did not further identify any of the people involved.
