TAMPA — A 76-year-old fugitive who has been on the run 18 years after skipping out on his court date has been extradited back to Hillsborough County to face charges.

Jose Antonio Gonzalez was recently located and arrested in the Dominican Republic, deputies said. He was found and extradited thanks to the combined efforts of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force and the Dominican Republic National Police.

He was wanted on charges of failing to appear on a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation and one count of failure to appear on a charge of lewd and lascivious exhibition.

Jail records show he has previous arrests in Hillsborough County on charges that include cocaine trafficking and DUI.
