They walked out of a Ybor City cigar store with $1,000 in stogies, police say

TAMPA — Police are looking for five men who walked into an Ybor City cigar store and are accused of walking out with nearly $1,000 worth of smokes.

The incident took place just before 6 p.m. on Aug. 31 at Long Ash Cigars, 1728 E Seventh Ave.

Surveillance video released by Tampa police shows the men perusing the cigars on the shelves, picking them up and sticking them into their pants pockets.

A middle-aged man was seen on the video giving a handful of stogies to a younger male in a Hawaiian shirt who fumbled around before pocketing them.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477 or send an anonymous tip online via the Crime Stoppers website.
