Clearwater man wanted, accused of shooting at vehicle

CLEARWATER —- Police are searching for a Clearwater man they say fired a gun at a vehicle carrying three women and two children Tuesday afternoon.

Jerry Phillips, 18, shot at the vehicle as it was leaving the 1500 block of Sherwood Street off N Highland Avenue, said Clearwater Public Safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts.

Nobody was injured in the shooting, which took place shortly after 1 p.m. Watts said Phillips is known to the victims and that the incident was "the result of an ongoing feud."

Phillips remains at large. Police are seeking to arrest him on charges of aggravated assault.

He was twice arrested earlier this year, on charges including resisting an officer with violence and possession of crack cocaine.
