Student accused of having gun at school

An anonymous tip Monday ended in the arrest of a King High School student who had brought a gun to class, according to the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office.

Devin Carter, 16, of Temple Terrace, was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a weapon on school grounds.

When authorities received the tip, a school resource deputy, school security and administrators pulled Carter from his classroom. They searched the teenager's backpack and found the .25 caliber handgun. Inside the gun were two bullets.

Carter was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
