RUSKIN — Three suspects won't be getting a mulligan after they were found in possession of eight stolen golf carts Thursday, deputies said.
Jason Beeche, 35, and Michael Griffiths, 40, were seen Thursday afternoon driving a golf cart that had been reported stolen that morning on 19th Avenue NW and U.S. 41 N, officials said.
Detectives said Beeche and Griffiths are responsible for 16 golf cart thefts and several shed burglaries in Ruskin in recent weeks.
It is believed the pair sold and traded drugs with Nicole Kramer, 40, for at least three of the stolen golf carts.
Kramer was arrested during a traffic stop at Symmes Road and Brussels Bay Lane just before 11 p.m.
During a search of Kramer's hotel room at the Gibtown Inn, at 11545 U.S. 41 S, detectives found tools they believe were taken in the Ruskin shed burglaries, officials said.
Deputies have recovered eight of the 16 missing golf carts so far, officials said, and are working to track down the remaining vehicles.
Each golf cart is worth about $5,000.
Beeche and Griffiths have been charged with several counts of grand theft, deputies said.
Kramer has been charged with two counts of dealing in stolen property, cocaine and paraphernalia possession, tampering with evidence and driving without a license.
All three suspects have criminal records in Hillsborough County.
