Pinellas County sheriff's investigators are on scene of a complicated hit-and-run case in which a man in a red car rammed into a porch full of people Friday morning and then hit a 12-year-old boy on a bicycle as he sped away.
The driver reportedly stopped in front of a house on 58th Avenue N near Haines Road and asked a group of people on the porch where he could find women.
They told him to go away, and he got angry. He left but then came back and deliberately drove into the group, said Darrell Edgar, 46, who was among those sitting on the porch.
The driver then sped off, he said, and hit a boy on a bicycle nearby on Haines Road. Edgar said the boy is his grandson and often rides his bicycle in the area.
Three women on the porch were taken to the hospital, said Edgar, who also was hit but refused medical treatment.
Initial reports suggest the boy wasn't seriously injured.
"He about killed four people," Edgar said. "Fool's what he is."
