St. Petersburg Police are working to identify a man they say robbed a hotel clerk at gunpoint shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday in the Feather Sound area.
Surveillance video at the Extended Stay Hotel, 2311 Ulmerton Road, captured an unmasked man asking the clerk about room rates. He is then seen waiting in the lobby as the clerk spoke with another customer, police said.
After the customer left, the man pointed a gun at her and forced her to fill a grocery bag with money from the cash register. When she finished, he made her lie face down on the ground before fleeing the hotel on foot, police said.
