TAMPA — Former Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes was arrested Monday night on charges that he missed court on several drug and traffic charges, jail records show.
Dukes, 28, was arrested by Tampa police near E 31st Avenue and 20th Street about 11:30 p.m.
He faces a charge of driving with a canceled or revoked license. He was also arrested on several warrants for failure to appear in court for marijuana possession, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a canceled or revoked license.
Dukes last played in the majors in 2009 for the Washington Nationals. He played for the Rays from 2003 to 2007.
