LARGO — A 37-year-old man was found guilty by a federal jury of downloading hundreds of child pornography images, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced Thursday.
In July 2012, Eric Thomas' then-wife discovered that he had looked at child pornography on their computer. Authorities obtained a search warrant and found that more than 850 images had been deleted, officials said.
"Thomas had taken considerable steps to conceal his activities by removing the Internet history and the child pornography files from his computer," the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
He was indicted in September 2013.
Thomas is scheduled to be sentenced later this year and faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
