WESLEY CHAPEL — Leroy Trotz had warned the boy before not to visit his daughter while he was away. When Trotz came home this time, he went after the boy with a machete, deputies said.
Trotz, 37, returned home around 3 p.m. Tuesday from a fishing trip and found the 17-year-old boy in his house, visiting Trotz's 16-year-old daughter, according to a report.
The boy jumped out of a window and ran. Trotz caught up to him and beat him "multiple times" with the machete's handle then used it to smash the driver's side window and windshield of the boy's Honda Accord, the report states.
Trotz then called police.
Trotz was later arrested at his house, 30657 Latourette Drive, and taken to Land O'Lakes jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief. He was released on $10,150 bail.
