TAMPA — A 56-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting early Monday morning in front of an E Lake Avenue liquor store, Tampa police officials said.
Police said a dark sedan was seen driving through an intersection and shooting in the direction of the store, where Willie F. Barber was sweeping the sidewalk. Barber was shot in the left buttock and taken to a hospital. He was in stable condition, officials said.
Police do not know if Barber was the intended victim or if there was a motive for the shooting. People interviewed in the area provided no information, police said.
There is a reward of up $3000 for information leading to an arrest. Crime Stoppers asked those with information to call 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
