ST. PETERSBURG — Two men were arrested in the shooting death of Joshua David Walsh, the 22-year-old St. Petersburg man killed during Tuesday's home invasion robbery, according to St. Petersburg police.

Gregory Savion Nishanna Hunt, 18, was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder. Jovonte Ray Johnson, 20, was arrested on a charge of being a principal to first-degree murder.

An armed Hunt was robbing Walsh's apartment at 2629 11th St. N on Tuesday morning when a struggle broke out with Walsh, police said.

Police said Hunt fatally shot Walsh multiple times. Walsh was taken to a hospital, but died later in the day. Police said several witnesses tied Hunt to the crime and that he confessed.

Johnson drove the duo to the scene of the crime, police said. He admitted to taking part in the robbery and destroying evidence afterward, according to police.

Hunt was being held in the Pinellas County jail in lieu of $500,000 on Wednesday. Johnson was also being held in jail, but no bail amount was available
