One man dead, another injured in Tampa stabbings

A 22-year-old man is facing a second-degree murder charge for stabbing two men early Saturday morning, Tampa police said.

Officers responded to E. 5th Avenue and N 16th Street at 2:45 a.m. in reference to the stabbings. Joshua Rankin, 21, died from his wounds, police said. William Medeiros, 21, suffered injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

Witnesses provided descriptions of two men who fled the scene. Joseph V. Amore was later charged with second-degree murder and aggravated battery, police said.
