PORT RICHEY — A man found dead behind a Family Dollar on Friday was stabbed the night before by his longtime girlfriend, according to Pasco County deputies.
A Port Richey police officer found Andrew Gluszek, 51, lying next to a Twice the Ice vending machine on Ridge Road. Deputies said he was homeless.
He was unconscious, detectives said, and pronounced dead at 8:39 p.m.
Investigators found a stab wound on Gluszek's body. While Port Richey police were on the scene, the man's girlfriend, Angela Garrett, showed up.
Garrett, 49, told police she stabbed her boyfriend the night before at her home on Vienna Lane, which is in Pasco Sheriff's Office's jurisdiction. Deputies are now handling the investigation.
Garrett was arrested on a charge of aggravated domestic battery, but new criminal charges may come depending the result of an autopsy, deputies said. She's being held in jail without bail.
Garrett had been in jail already the week before on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting an officer without violence and trespassing.
