A 69-year-old Pinellas Park man is accused of assaulting a 9-year-old relative, police said Monday.
Donald Stidham touched the girl about 3 a.m. Monday in a home in Pinellas Park, according to authorities.
The young girl was sleeping in a room with two of her brothers. Stidham walked into the room naked, kneeled down and touched her through her underwear, according to an arrest affidavit.
The girl's parents caught him in the act, authorities said. According to a police spokesman, Stidham has a "familial relationship" with the girl.
Investigators said Stidham confessed to the crime. He was charged with capital sexual battery.
