Chinese buffet dinner thieves say they were 'not satisfied' with food

A man and a woman from Largo passed through the food line at Golden Wok China Buffet twice but did not pay the $24.56 for their dinner Dec. 17, according to an arrest report.

Tyler Lee Beliles, 21, and Brittany Anne Osman, 24, said "they were not satisfied with the taste and freshness of the food," according to the report. But investigators noted that the duo did not complain to management before eating dessert and leaving the restaurant on Missouri Avenue.

Beliles and Osman were arrested about 9 p.m. They each face a charge of theft from a public food service establishment.

Credit theft begins with Kay, police say

A week before Christmas, according to an arrest report, Leonardas Donnell Berry walked into Kay Jewelers ready to spend.

He picked out earrings, a necklace, a ring and a watch worth $5,992.45 combined, police said. Then, according to the report, he handed over a fake South Carolina driver's license and opened a credit account to cover the expense. When credit investigators called the man Berry claimed to be, he said he had not bought any jewelry in Florida.

Berry, 54, of Stone Mountain, Ga., was arrested about 2 p.m. Dec. 18. He faces charges including fraudulent use of personal identification information and grand theft.

Deputies said they yanked off the top of five commercial washing machines in a laundromat on Main Street. Johnson and Kennedy placed the quarters they recovered into coin wraps, investigators said.
