Police investigate armed robbery attempt at gas station in Tampa

TAMPA — An armed robber shot at a gas station clerk on North Florida Avenue overnight but did not hit anyone before fleeing the scene, according to police.

Officers are investigating the attempted robbery in the Citgo at 9931 N. Florida Ave. They said someone pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. When a second employee walked in, police said, the robber shot at that person and ran.
