LARGO — Authorities said early Thursday they were no longer searching for a 13-year-old girl who was last seen Tuesday evening with a registered sex offender, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Largo police had said the girl was last seen about 9 p.m. Tuesday walking near Fifth Avenue N and Sixth Street with Jercore Jones, 34.
The missing child alert was canceled about 5 a.m. Thursday, according to the FDLE. Records show Jones is being held at the Pinellas County Jail on lewd or lascivious battery and drug charges. He was booked shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.
