TAMPA — Police are looking for a man who robbed a New Tampa credit union Tuesday before getting away on a bicycle.

The man walked into the USF Federal Credit Union at 6417 E County Line Road at about 12:30 p.m. He walked up to a counter and handed the teller a note demanding cash, according to Tampa police. After receiving money, the man walked outside, got on a dark blue mountain bike and rode away.

Detectives later found video surveillance footage that showed a silver Toyota Camry driving slowly through the credit union's parking lot as the robbery was happening, police said. They are trying to determine if the car was involved in the heist.

The robber was described as a man in his early 20s and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He wore a Philadelphia Phillies ball cap, a white T-shirt, blue basketball shorts and gray tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 873-TIPS (8477).
