Rapes reported on University of South Florida campus

TAMPA — Two cases of rape were reported this week at residence halls on the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida, officials say, both involving people who know the victims.

One rape was reported Sunday and occurred the same day in the Juniper-Poplar Hall, said USF police Lt. Chris Daniel. Another was reported Monday and occurred a month earlier in Castor Hall, he said.

Suspects have been identified in both cases, but no arrests have been made, Daniel said.

Police continue to investigate.
