Sheriff: Man, woman stole $500 in quarters from Tampa laundromat, then did laundry

TAMPA — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help to identify a man and a woman who the agency said stole $500 wroth of quarters from a coin-operated laundromat last month.

Deputies said they used the stolen coins to do their laundry in the same laundromat they're accused of robbing.

The incident took place on Sept. 27 at Westgate Coin Laundry, 7715 W Hillsborough Ave., according to the Sheriff's Office. Sometime between 12:54 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., deputies said, the man used a modified key to open up the change machines and stole about $500 in quarters. Then the couple used those quarters to do their laundry in the same place.
