A Tampa man faces attempted kidnapping charges after Pasco County sheriff's deputies connected him to two incidents last month where they say he tried to lure children into his car at a Land O' Lakes bus stop.
Deputies arrested Robert Patrick Fenk, 63, at his home in Tampa on Wednesday night after they say he attempted to convince children to get into his car on March 14 and March 28 at a bus stop at the intersection of Roderick Drive and Collier Parkway.
On March 14, deputies said the driver of a silver 4-door Cadillac was spotted at the intersection offering to pick up children from the bus stop. The same vehicle was seen again at the same bus stop on March 28 trying to pick up children by saying he needed help finding a dog, deputies said.
Deputies tracked the car to Fenk and went to his home. Deputies said he initially lied by telling them he was never in Pasco County. Eventually, deputies said Fenk admitted to being in the Collier Parkway area. The victims also picked his face out of several photographs, deputies said.
Fenk was arrested on Wednesday night and booked into Hillsborough County jail, where he was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
