TAMPA — A judge has found a Tampa man guilty of attempting to induce a child to engage in sex acts, the U.S. Attorney's office said Thursday.
James Patrick Baker, 33, was arrested in Sarasota in April. In phone conversations with undercover officers, he tried to arrange sex with who he thought was a mother and her 12-year-old child. He was arrested with candy and a condom, both of which he talked about bringing with him, authorities said.
Baker faces a maximum sentence of life in federal prison.
