TAMPA — Police are looking for a driver who hit a man trying to cross the street then fled the scene early Saturday morning on W. Hillsborough Avenue, officers said.
The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, later died at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Tampa police said they are looking for a low-riding sedan with front-end damage.
Police said the man who was hit was trying to cross Hillsborough Avenue from the north side to the south side of the road. He was hit by a vehicle driving west.
Police said the car never stopped.
