ST. PETERSBURG — A 14-year-old boy was arrested Saturday on a sexual battery charge after allegations surfaced that he had inappropriate sexual contact with a toddler, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit began investigating the 14-year-old Saturday, when a witness reported seeing the teenager have sexual contact with a 19-month-old child at a private residence in the county, deputies said.
The teenage boy was interviewed, according to the Sheriff's Office, arrested and transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
