Young man in critical condition after Tampa shooting

TAMPA — A young man who was in a fight that involved several people was in the hospital in critical condition Saturday night after he was shot on N Winnie Street, Tampa police said.

Two groups of young people on bikes got into a fight that ended in gun fire on the 5000 block of N Winnie Street around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. An 18-year-old man was taken to Tampa General Hospital with life-threatening injuries including upper body trauma, police said. A 14-year-old victim was also listed with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Authorities said at least four people were involved, some of them juveniles. The shooting was not random, police said. The names of those involved, including the injured, were not available Saturday night.
