Dade City woman suffers medical episode, dies in crash

HERNANDO COUNTY — A 64-year-old woman died Wednesday after suffering a medical episode and losing control of her vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, Karen Roche Miracola, of Dade City, was heading west on Gardenia Way, west of Bob White Lane, in a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. At about 10:20 p.m., troopers said, Miracola suffered a medical episode and lost control of her car. She drove off the road and entered the front lawn of a home at 34812 Gardenia Way, crashing into a landscaping retaining wall.

Miracola died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
