Driver of stolen car sought after crashing into St. Petersburg house

Police say the driver of a stolen Hyundai lost control, drove through a fence, and struck a parked car that was pushed through a house.

ST. PETERSBURG — Police are searching for the driver who fled after crashing a stolen car Monday night.

Police say the driver of a stolen Hyundai lost control shortly after 10 p.m., drove through a fence, and struck a car that was parked in front of a house at 3801 19th Ave. N.

The impact caused the parked car to crash through the house, police said.

A man who was in the house was not injured, police said.

The driver fled the scene and has yet to be located, police said.

The house remains intact and the resident will not be relocated, police said.
