A Lakeland man faces a charge of DUI manslaughter following a crash Sunday night that killed a Plant City woman on Interstate 4 in Polk County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Stephen W. McCullough was speeding in a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse eastbound on I-4 at around 9:20 p.m. when he crashed into a 2014 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Gloria Daniel, 40, from behind.

The impact caused Daniel's SUV to overturn multiple times, troopers said. It came to rest in the center median, several hundred feet away from the crash site.

Daniel was taken to Lakeland Regional Health, where she later died, troopers said.
