Firefighters battle house fire in Lealman

Lealman firefighters investigate a fire that broke out at 7:30 Tuesday morning in a duplex at 7140 50th Ave N.  No one was at home at the time and no one was injured in the blaze.

Detectives in Lealman are still investigating the cause of a large house fire that began at 7140 50th Ave. N early Tuesday.

Firefighters arrived about 7:30 a.m. and found flames coming from the roof of the ranch-style home, which was owned by 44-year-old Edel Fernandez. A spokesman said they believe the fire started in the attic.

It took 25 firefighters about 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Firefighters do not believe the fire was suspicious.
