No injuries in vehicle fire that closed Tampa hospital parking garage Saturday

TAMPA — Smoke from a vehicle fire closed a parking garage at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital for about an hour Saturday afternoon, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said.

Crews responded to a single vehicle fire on the first level of the parking garage around 12:30 p.m. The fire was extinguished, and a ventilation truck was used to clear the heavy smoke the fire produced, officials said.

No one was injured, and no one was in the vehicle at the time of the fire, officials said.
